Some have called us a fallen universe, existing at the furthest point away from the Great Creator, a universe whose planet Earth provided a great opportunity for us to experience diversity in all of its wonder.
But we were never meant to fall this far. It was never intended that we stray so far away from our divinity that we become specters of our former selves.
We have reached the furthest point away from our separation from the Divine, no, not "out there", but inside. Acts of barbarity and savagery hold up a mirror to all of us to show us the depths of depravity that we have fallen to, as we are only as strong as the weakest link among us.
When we kill another being, and this includes the animal realm as well, we kill ourselves. We keep that magnificent silken divine cord of unity in tattered disarray, we do not allow ourselves to heal.
Killing takes many forms. Murder comes with a disdainful eye, a callous and cruel comment, a slight and an indifference. With every act like this we remain savages, when we are so much more.
