I feel a sadness at the sectarian violence that persists in the world, like a cancer that we just can't seem to cure. Every time we read about murder, rape, the violence of one religion against another, one culture against another, one country against another, black against white, white against black, men against women, I wonder if there is any kind of realization out there that in lifting our hand against another we are only wounding ourselves.
There is not one religion out there that is superior to any other. There is no gender that is better than the other. There is no country that can hold out clean hands. And yet every time we lash out in hatred and in anger, in condescension and in "superiority", we are ultimately lashing out against the Divine Presence that created us all.
The One that created black, white, yellow and red, male and female, all life forms and ways of life, with none better than the other because all are a reflection of that Goodness.
How did we allow our hearts to become so clouded?
