The Year of the Horse

Over the holidays I went to see "Odysseo" performed by a group called Cavalia (www.cavalia.net) and it spoke to the magnificent symbiosis between horse and rider, highlighting the beauty of the horse as a being in its own right, wild and free, fearless, in addition to its absolute melding into a trusted relationship with its rider.  It was a truly magical performance.

I have always loved horses, especially those that run wild and free.  I remember seeing the wild horses of the Camargue when I went into Saintes Marie de la Mer in the south of France to research my first book, a town where as lore states, Mary Magdalene arrived after fleeing persecution in Palestine.

2014 is the Year of the Horse, and if this magnificent creature holds true to its character, it promises to be a galvanizing one.

I can't wait, as this is my year.
