We have seen a lot of posturing on the world stage recently, a lot of chest thumping belligerency that I suppose, is meant to impress the masses and leave them cowering.
All I can think of is the Wizard of Oz. I remember the final scene when Dorothy, somewhat tremulous, approaches the sanctuary of the "wizard", the penultimate bully and braggart and ripping open the inner sanctum, finds a lone, elderly, impotent, cowering man.
His bluff and bravado was external. Only the weak and insecure show breathtaking cruelty to others because of course, they have no inner strength and no inner conviction of their own. They are actually bereft or anything noble and sanctified at all.
Beware those who call themselves "strongmen" (or women). They have constructed their identities from illusion, terror and chaos, from the ego.
Stripped away, they are nothing. Ephemeral.
Dust.
Don't give your power to them.
