When the Brazilian National Museum burned down recently many anguished that this disaster was the equivalency of the destruction of the library in ancient Alexandria. Loss of artifacts, history, knowledge, that a people had come to accept as their own, gone, vanished, quickly.
I am wondering how much of history is revisionist in nature, written by the victors and those who wished to plot and orchestrate a specific vision of the future. Remarkably, for instance, women seem to have been written out of most of our history, all around the world, and yet in God's eyes we are the equal of men in every way, and contributed far more than we know to the unfolding of history. There were civilizations where matriarchy predominated and all lived in harmony and balance.
In a larger sense I think one of the most heinous cover-ups in history is our persistent clinging to the fact that we arose from the apes and have been making steady progress ever since. Certainly that definition of who we are has allowed for great control from many factors in our society, including religions.
But what if there was a civilization that existed relatively recently, say about 12,800-13,000 years ago that puts our current civilization to shame? What if we were already so advanced then that when that society was eradicated we had to begin again.
There is increasing evidence that a large comet, about 60 miles in length hit our planet, round about where I am sitting now in British Columbia. This comet hit the ice pack that covered much of Canada at that time and rapidly melted it, in a matter of days, causing enormous flooding and a significant rise in temperatures. Potent fragments of the comet bounced up into the atmosphere to come down again all over the world, collapsing this civilization and bringing humanity and the majority of the great mammals to the brink of extinction and some to extinction completely. Fragments of this comet, by the way, still circle the Earth and it is largely Jupiter that is acting as a gatepost to prevent it, and its companions, from nailing us again in as significant a manner (although the Tunguska event in a fairly remote part Russia that wiped out 80 million trees with the megawatt power a nuclear bomb was pretty interesting.)
Perhaps Jehovah's admonition to Adam and Eve to replenish the Earth came about in the aftermath of this astounding global depletion.
You can read about the Younger Dryas comet and its impact widely now as the scientific community has (recently) woken up to its significance. Mainstream science tried to kill this theory originally but it is gaining prevalence and importance from the scientific community, quickly.
Plato said that Atlantis sank about this time, and this was information that had been passed along from generation to generation by Solon, the great lawmaker. Certainly there is documented evidence of a world wide flood that includes accounts of Noah's flood certainly, but also captures the decimating power of water in other parts of the globe. At the same time in history.
Let us put our lives and our importance into perspective. Let us re-visit history and eliminate what is false and no longer serves us.
