The Earth's Robber Barons

I have worked in the area of social enterprises with those who are doing social good and who place "profits" and the end of their motto that begins with "people" and planet".

Their goal is to raise the level of abundance and prosperity of those who have historically fallen in the cracks of our society and have been shunned by the power brokers, the conglomerates and the banks, and so on.

But because there has been an immense groundswell of dissatisfaction about this, some might say a righteous anger, the tables have started to turn and words like "impact investing" have started to gain great respect.

In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that major lending institutions are now falling all over themselves to get on this band wagon, not for altruistic reasons, although there are those within these institutions with good hearts, obviously, but to increase market share.  They would have never conceived of this switch in policy in the past because they have been solely focused on the amassing of wealth and the forwarding of their own agendas, leaving the poor behind.

This groundswell, those who insist that the poor have a right to abundance and prosperity too, those who speak up for the Earth and her creatures, is slowly changing policy and the movement will not abate now.  Those who are the other side of this change will either fade away or come into alignment with this new way of being.

Never underestimate the power of your voice in making a positive change, especially now when positive change needs to occur, quickly.  The old ways are disappearing and those who hoard their wealth at the expense of others will find that they are holding thin air.

What good is your wealth now in the face of what is happening on our planet?  It will not add one more moment to your life. Until we are all on a level playing field, until we are all in that place where we can safely dream about a new world, chaos will continue.

There is no Messiah coming to save us.  That Messiah is already here, inside each of us.  Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, especially now.
