I have always loved this sublime painting by Klimt but never more so than the past couple of years. In fact, when I moved from Vancouver to Vancouver Island I got rid of just about everything, except this painting. Realistically I looked a bit like a bag lady, albeit an elegant one, with my two suitcases and this enormous painting on top of the bags.
I saw the man in this painting in Vancouver a few months before my Divine Partner came to me. He was sitting on a busy street corner, looking like the fools in the courts of the medieval kings, and he had ivy in his hair just like this. He was beating madly on a drum and I joined others to smile at him before moving along the street. Several blocks away I turned and there he was, right behind me, busily accessing more ivy in a nearby bush for his hair.
I think this painting, now that I am re-united with my Beloved, sums up to me the incredible, achingly beautiful Divine Reunion that we are in the midst of, and there are really no words, not even from this wordsmith, that can capture this sublime relationship. But poised as they are in this painting between Heaven and Earth, the lovers represent the union of the Divine Masculine with the Divine Feminine as they embrace in perfect harmony between both realms, between all realms.
The Song Endless Love playing here comes close to capturing this Union perfectly.
