I just finished a sci-fi trilogy called Ascension, the Complete Trilogy by Justin de Paoli.
It tells the story of the rise of Oblivion, the male entity who seeks the ultimate destruction of the world and the light, and Essence, its female counterpart, separated from him, who Oblivion is seeking to annihilate. The heroine of the book saves the world by uniting "duality" and bringing them both together as the premise of the book is that one cannot exist and thrive without the other.
We know Oblivion in our world: the black hats of the corporate world who seeks profits at the expense of those they serve, the governments who destroy their people and seek to conquer and divide, who crush life and who try to crush hope.
Who infiltrate receptive vehicles to their messaging and fill them with despair so that they run about here and there proclaiming the end of the world, the end of the Earth and who also proclaim great hatred towards the "other": women, immigrants, those of another culture or religion, the Earth herself. "Save yourself" they say, the end is near. Bow to my god now or you surely will not be saved".
In the book, Oblivion feared "Hope" and Belief", and because of this, he feared the young girl, who had Essence embedded within her. Essence WAS hope, love, joy, beauty and goodness.
Oblivion also hated the thought of duality because he wanted it all. But on the Earth, because we are of both heaven and earth, "duality" is inescapable. Once the young heroine drew the soul of Oblivion into her own soul and re-united it with Essence, once she then breathed "duality" back into the world, the sun shone once more. And great peace came to the land and to all people.
The days of Oblivion and the black hats are over. There is a deep thrashing inside the residual remains of this energy who know this to be true, but Hope and Belief will ultimately win the day.
We have no doubt about this.
