Nature has once again reached out to teach me a profound lesson. The summer has been parched and dry and everywhere in our beloved west coast rainforest there was death and dryness.
We all tried not to be worried about this obvious drought but we all grieved terribly to see the sun scorched earth.
And then suddenly, it started to rain, and this rain continued for a few weeks off and on. Everything seemed lost and then, almost overnight it seemed as though Nature flicked a switch: our lawns and hillsides were green once more and incredibly, even the trees and grasses that had withered and died grew green shoots until the brownness was obliterated and then one day on a walk I noticed that we had our beloved rainforest back.
For me, the metaphor that came out of this experience was two-fold: first of all, similar to the parable of the vine that Jesus mentioned, those who are cut off from the source of Divinity within them will wither and die. There is a tremendous amount of Divine Light flooding the Earth right now, especially in September and if our sensors are not open, if we are not open to receiving this Light and rely on the old antiquated notions of ego, then we will wither and die too, from the inside out. We just cannot survive without connection to the Source, which is more prevalent now than in any other time in human history.
The other compelling lesson involved the Earth itself and her strong recuperative powers. I was blown away by just how quickly everything returned to balance.
Don’t be deceived by the naysayers who say that we are on a one –way ticket to hell and the Earth is on its last legs. The Earth will outlive all of us. We are creating the disasters that we see in the world. We may find this statement incredible but everything that is happening in the natural world: the depletion of the species, the wildfires and the scorched earth, the earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, the list goes on, we at some level created through our own toxic thoughts. If we could only realize the direct correlation to our overarching and abiding cultural belief system which if perpetuated will lead US into hell (not the Earth) and the state of the Earth we would (if wise enough) abruptly change paths and think “nurture” instead of “destruction”.
I am convinced that if we collectively developed this kind of vision the Earth would correct any imbalances quickly.
