I got a lovely note from an author in China who reached out to many publishing firms to see if there was interest in his book. Apparently we were the only ones that got back to him.
The note was quite lengthy and the English was not 100% there (of course it's not 100% there for people in the English-speaking world either). He said he was aware that I am from a Christian part of the world and that he did not know how to greet me as they do not believe in religion in China, not even in Buddhism. And then he described his book which revolved around the nature of power in certain sci-fi books he liked, and asked me if he could send his manuscript to me.
I got back to him and said that Canada, in fact, is a country of many religions and faiths, all are welcomed here. We have built a foundation of tolerance and acceptance, but we are far from perfect as racism exists here as it does in other countries.
I said that "religion" was no deal breaker these days as the voice of Angels have been heard from many who are not confined by the strictures of religions and who proclaim themselves atheists.
I said I believed that what lay within a human heart was far more important, as we are all Divine, whether we realize this or not.
I went onto say that the lack of faith many of us experience is the same for people in most of the countries of the world: lack of faith in our leaders, our governments, our corporations, our banks, and especially these days, our pharmaceutical companies and their affiliates whose only agenda is the bottom line and control of our lives. Certainly not our health.
However, I concluded, many are growing in faith now at the possibility of a new future with enlightened and wise younger leaders who are emerging, as none of us will tolerate what has been any longer. Look at the people of Lebanon as one recent example. The cords of tyranny, brutality and cruelty have been stretched to their limit in our world and it is over. It is the people's turn now. We witness the intense desire around the world for freedom, for a pristine planet and for the absolute prerogative to live our lives in the manner that best suits us.
I wait to hear his response and look forward to the possibility of working with this author and others that we are hearing from in many countries around the world.
