Look at the image below, what do you see? I see a stylized waterfall, beautiful and radiant with a solitary lovely flower descending into the crashing pool below, like something out of a wonderful dream. I see an alternate reality.
In fact, this is a tree in Stanley Park, Vancouver, that I shot about a year ago, an ancient cedar with a white flower embedded into its bark. I inverted the colors and translated it into canvas and it is now here in my home. I look at it, mesmerized, as I write this.
I am mesmerized because of its potential. We have all been conditioned to look at life in a certain way. Our culture, our traditions, our religions, have painted a world that we have all signed off on. We inherited our view of the world from our ancestors, from our families, from our communities, and we have all assumed that there is no other form of existence. This is what has always happened, so this is our "lot". And so we trudge on.
But what if it isn't "our lot"? What if we can re-write the script or put before us a new vision of reality, on a new canvas? Unless we are completely insensate it will not have escaped anyone's notice that the world, its religions, cultures, belief systems, are now in a heightened state of turmoil and great chaos.
Something clearly needs to change, and that change is up to us. It is certainly not up to the "vested interests", however so defined, who have a vested interest only in the status quo, because it profits them.
What if we changed the lens on our outlook and took back control of our world and how we wish it to unfold?
What would our New Earth look like then?
