I am a volunteer with a non profit who is working to find the reason for whale distress and the loss of marine life in the Gulf of Mexico in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon spill five years ago. They are studying the whales as they are a harbinger for the overall health of the oceans, which is in a state of serious decline. As are the whales. And it is important to pay very careful attention to this as their destinies are linked to ours.
As I studied whales I came to understand that these majestic creatures can descend into the ocean's depth to such an extent that they are completely unaffected by natural disasters, like tsunamis, earthquakes, typhoons, which to them represent a ripple across their awareness.
The lessons that we can learn from this are profound. We are living in the midst of storms like this now, in every way, and it is very important to find that place of stillness within....because that is the only place that we will be safe.
