Princess Latifa Al Maktoum is the daughter of the ruler of Dubai, one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world. She made a daring escape in February of 2018 and she received assistance in this escape from a French spy and a close friend from Finland. They were in international waters on a ship flying a US flag close to Goa when the Indian government's security forces, in collusion with the UAE, stormed the boat and removed her. She has not been heard from since.
This documentary is aired only in Canada so I am unsure as to who else can review this but it talks about a 45 minute video that Latifa put out before the escape that provides an excellent insight into the status of women in this part of the Arab world. And into the absolute oppression they face in this highly secured country. She wanted this released in the event that she was captured, which it was.
The perspective on Dubai is and interesting one, especially as the public persona this ruler tries to emit of his country is one of liberalism and absolute hedonism. "Westernized" as it were.
When the French spy told armed commandos who were removing Latifa from his boat that they were infringing upon international law, he was told that he had infringed Islamic law which states that women are controlled, absolutely, by their husbands and other male members of their household. Quite at odds with how they are selling their country to the world.
Larifa's sister escaped briefly in a visit to Cambridge in 2000. Latifa reports in the video that her sister, upon return to Dubai, was drugged and monitored so closely that she has become, in effect, a zombie.
Absolute penetrating light needs to be continually shone upon all areas of the world that treat women with such disgrace, to the extent that they are free to stand in their own authenticity, without their male "handlers".
Free from barbarism.
