This is Holy Week for Christians where they celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Christ, and I feel compelled to wonder at the morbid celebration of one who died such a gruesome and horrific death. Has anyone ever questioned why the cross showing a man impaled in such great agony lies at the center of the Christian faith? Does anyone, equally, wonder why we look to Christ solely for our own resurrection and ascension instead of looking deep within?
At this time of the earth's turning, Christ has indeed returned, profoundly so, but not in the way that the church preaches. This return, this Christ consciousness, is taking place in each of us regardless of who we are, which faith we espouse, or which "god" we bow to. As we move from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius and as we watch the earth go through profound changes, some might say an ascension of her own, so we must as well. I believe the time that is now upon us is about taking personal responsibility for our internal, spiritual transformation so that we can "rise above" the maelstrom of the lower dimensions and assume our correct place as Divine Beings alongside Christ, Buddha, Mohammed, Kuan Yin, and any of the other great teachers who came into our midst to show us the way.
This is not about them, this is about us learning from them, not to stare up at them in adulation but to transform ourselves as they clearly have done. This is not an optional choice now, as I believe that one way or the other ascension is the only path open to us as the earth and heavens continue to merge as one.
The message of Holy Week, which should be every week, is not a message about the sacrifice of a loving, beautiful and wise teacher, although we are humbled by the price he paid. It is about honoring his message deep within us and being transformed by it. Only then can we ascend as well.
It is no accident that Easter, Holy Week, also takes place in the spring, as this is the time of the earth's renewal as well, a time when the Goddess was once revered and held sacrosanct. We have lost this connection with Her, to our detriment. And now, I believe, she is doing what she needs to do to heal herself of the damage we have collectively done to her.
Unless the female and the male are revered and honored as one and in balance, Mother/Father God, Female/Male, the respect we owe each other as divine creations, we are doomed to forever repeat our destructive patterns of the past.
Only this time, the Earth and the Great Mother/Father God will not sit idly by. We are living, I believe, at the beginning of the creation of a new Heaven and Earth, merging as One.
We must rid ourselves of the destructive icons that point to death instead of life, agony instead of joy, scarcity and grief instead of divine abundance and plenitude, for all.
If you continue to allow the churches and their leaders to define who you are, and who Christ was to you, nothing will change and ascension will never be possible.
If you continue to have increasingly irrelevant patriarchal religious institutions define you, institutions that spurn the Goddess and the feminine, then you will be trapped in the past and never experience the joy and the heightened wonder that is blossoming all around us, right now.
